Baska Voda
Baska Voda
Baska Voda is a charming coastal town located on the Makarska Riviera. It's situated 5 km south of Brela, 10 km north of Makarska, and around 50 km along the coast from Split. Baska Voda's pebble beaches and lush pine forests have been drawing visitors for thousands of years-its history dates back 4000 years. The name first appeared in 1688 and the earliest public building was a late baroque church dedicated to St. Lovre. The town's inhabitants have traditionally been involved in agriculture, tourism, fishing and marine activities. Historical sites include the Church of St. Lovre (1750), St. Nikola church (1889), St. Roko church (15th century), Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (1636), Church of All Saints (1999), and a statue of St. Nikola. You can also visit the Archaeological Museum of Collections, Malacological Museum and the MGD gallery to learn more about the history of Baska Voda. Sports fans can take part in activities such as sailing, diving, mountain biking, and more. During summer, the town hosts a variety of festivities, such as fishermen's nights, evenings of Dalmatian folk songs, and folklore evenings. For those looking for a night out, there are plenty of nightclubs and dance balconies. Food lovers can enjoy an array of restaurants offering Dalmatian cuisine and other specialties of the region.
