In the Area:
The island of Zut, part of the Kornati Archipelago, is between the islands of Pasman and Kornat. There are no permanent settlements on the island, but some fishermen and farmers from Murter have temporary houses on the island. The Kornati Archipelago consists of 147 islands, islets and reefs within the Kornati National Park. The area is famous for fascinating cliffs, stone pasture grounds and a variety of vegetation. Traces of Roman, Illyrian and medieval constructions are found on the islands. The islands are also full of old fish houses. Except for the largest island, Kornat, they are primarily uninhabited. The Kornati offer boaters numerous beautiful coves in which to anchor for a quick swim or for the night. There are also excellent family restaurants to be found in some of the coves.
